Ten Things: August

This year our Ten Things series, on the tenth of each month, is concentrating on things which are wackier than usual, if not by much. From odd road names to Christmas carols by way of saints and scientists. So here goes with August amusement …

  1. Hi Keith,
I have seen your budgie photo on Flickr, and would like your permission to embroider my version. I have had permission from another Flickr member in the past for a kingfisher.
I would be happy to send you an image of my finished work. The embroidery is for me and will not be sold.
    Many thanks
    Sue Cork

    1. Hi Sue,
Yes, that’s fine as long as it really is only for your personal use and not sold or reproduced anywhere.
      Best, Keith

As a way of encouraging others starting out with painting with a needle, I normally post on embroidery sites on Facebook – but only the ones where content can not be shared. In fact I did put a work in progress on one site already. I am happy to send you a photo if you give me your email. I do not intend to profit in anyway from my embroidery, and your budgie reminded me so much in attitude to one (called snowy) I had in the 1970’s. I also grew up in London (Woolwich and Eltham) in the 50’s only leaving in 1972.

I do hope you give me further permission to show my work and I am happy to credit you for the orgininal photograph.

    All the best Sue.
